first 30 days -

YOUR FIRST 30 DAYS

During the last 15 days of your first month as a beauty consultant you will continue to hold appointments. You will also learn the behind the scenes of the "after-party" for the first time.  

There are 4 trainings to complete in this section:

1. Earn Your Pearls of Sharing

2. Color & Skin Care Confident

3. Loading Customers into MyCustomers+ App

4. Organizing Your Receipts

Pearls of sharing -

#1 - EARN YOUR PEARLS OF SHARING

Mary Kay Ash always asked us one thing - To Pass it On. Pass on this opportunity just as someone passed to you! This is one of the best gifts of our business, to give it to someone else in need.

Earning your Pearls of Sharing is one of the highest honors you can be awarded as a new consultant!  In order to receive your pearls you will practice 6 sharing appointments with your Director live or on 3way call.

  • Pearl Earrings - Complete 3 practice/training interviews with your Director 
  • Pearl Bracelet -Complete 3 more practice/training interviews with your Director
  • Pearl Necklace - Complete the 6 interviews with your Director and add one new active team member!

What is a Sharing Appointment or Practice Interview?

  • A Sharing Appointment (Practice Interview) is an excellent training opportunity for you to learn more about Mary Kay while building your team! You Director will show you how to share the Mary Kay opportunity so that you can master it and do it all on your own! We do this with our customers who have already been facialed and they act like a guinea pig for us. Although it is just practice - some customers get excited about the opportunity and want to join your team! It's a win, win.

Pearls of Sharing booking script is located in the "Booking Scripts - Booking is the Lifeline of Your Business" section of your New Consultant Packet. Please print and have ready to book!

organize your receipts

#4 - ORGANIZE YOUR RECEIPTS

The easiest way to stay organized is to purchase an expandable accordion file. Then, divide the sections into  the tax categories and place expense receipts in it - these are your tax deductions! You MUST keep your receipts in order to prove that the purchase was made. I like to set up a specific time to file these once a week or once a month! 

Below are examples of expense categories that I have set into place.

  • Packing Slips (the sheet from in your order box)
  • Advertising: Business cards, labels and stationery, fliers, etc.
  • Workshops - Booth space, fairs and shows, makeup workshops. 
  • Bank Charges: ProPay Fees, Credit Card Processing Fees, Credit Card Fees, Other:
  • Cell Phone
  • Shipping: USPS charges, Stamps
  • Insurance: Liability Insurance, Cost of self-employed health insurance
  • Interest: Interest paid on loans or credit cards used to purchase business tools/investments
  • Legal & Professional Fees: Business related legal, accounting and tax return preparation fees
  • Office Expenses: Furniture (desk, chair, calculator, pens, etc)
  • Supplies: Copying & Printing (paper, pens, etc) Items used for skin care classes (cotton balls & swabs, etc), Baskets, Packaging materials, Ribbons & decorative supplies
  • Travel: Hotel, Flights, Ubers, Lyft, Parking, etc.
  • Meals & Entertainment: Food/drink purchased during travel, Food/drink purchased for a customer
  • Mileage
