#2 - SETTING YOUR BUSINESS HOURS
It may feel like you have so much on your plate that you aren't sure where to fit your MK business in. This is not something that happens by accident, but rather planning your work and working your plan!
Ready to get started?
Get your Mary Kay datebook out of your starter kit (or if you have a current calendar you use, use that!) You will probably want a couple highlighter or marker colors to make it visually easier!
- First Step: Write in & color code all of your current commitments. Family things, doctors appts, date night, work, school, etc. Anything that is non-negotiable and static. This will help you see where you have available blocks of time!
- Second Step: Decide which hours you want to work MK. I typically like to do 1.5-2 hr time blocks to use for travel time & the appointment itself. You will also want to have some time scheduled for office time - booking, filling orders, follow ups, etc. Color code these green for appointments where you can make $$ and pink for office time!
Now that you have some guidelines set up I suggest to share them with your family so they know these are the times you will be unavailable! If you treat it like a normal work schedule, it will be respected like a normal work schedule!
Now that you have your work schedule, you are prepared to book your appointments. But first, lets go over some objections below to help prepare you for anything!

It will only take about an hour or so to find your customize your routine, but after that I can save you an enormous amount of time by delivering products straight to you! I can save you money too! Would you happen to have just one 1 hour time slot free?

“Yes I would love for you to get input from your friends! Can we possibly mark a tentative date in my calendar so I have the time marked off & then let your friends know the date and whoever can come, comes!? Treat it like a birthday party! Then if we have to change it later we totally can!"

When you login for the first time, you'll use your consultant ID which was provided to your in your first email from the company! Create a password, and write both your ID & password on the designated lines in your New Consultant Packet!

Your MK Personal Website allows your customers to shop online and make purchases directly form their phone or computer. This is also a great way for out of town customers to order quickly!

ProPay is the credit card processing company connected to your MK Personal Website. The money you have earned will go to your ProPay account. Then transfer the money to your bank account or select the option to use your ProPay funds to pay for your order on InTouch.
